By the way, one of the characters in the book – Commissioner Sinclair Hutton of the Metropolitan Police in London – is actually named after the Doctor who delivered Chris in Perth in 1964!
Dr Hutton actually visited Chris’s mum in hospital the night he was born, resplendent in black tie, on the way to see ‘From Russia with Love’ – which coincidentally became Chris’s favourite author. Thus, his mention in Defender.
